Meet The Staff Linda Schindler Email Linda Schindler is a native of Evansville, Indiana who has been with the Substance Abuse Council of Vanderburgh County since February 1, 1993. She started working ten hours a week as the Coordinator for the Council, and was promoted to Executive Director on March 1, 2002. She has had a wide experience in dealing with a diverse group of civic organizations and has particularly good rapport with the Vanderburgh County Courts, Judges, Police and Sheriff's Departments. Ms. Schindler networks well with all of our community's non-profit agencies, charitable foundations, civic organizations, governmental agencies and the media. Ms. Schindler is an able and competent Director that has brought the Substance Abuse Council a long way in the past several years. Ms. Schindler's goal is to make a difference in this community. Shateka Woods Email Shateka Woods is a native of Nashville, Tennessee. She has resided in Evansville for more than 10 years. In October 2002, Shateka began her service for AmeriCorps at the Substance Abuse Council, and was promoted to Program Director in March 2004. She is a trained SMART Moves Facilitator since 1998. She is currently attending Indiana Wesleyan University. She has five years experience working with youth and is dedicated to the well being of the community. With an outgoing personality and expertise in business management, she has many qualities to contribute to the council’s mission. Shateka is definitely fulfilling her motto which is to, “Empower, Encourage, and Improve youth.”
