The SMART Moves drug prevention program was developed by the Boy’s and Girls Club of America.

Helps young people avoid four of the most immediate threats to their well being: Alcohol, Tobacco, Other Drugs and Teen Pregnancy.

This program aims to provide young people with knowledge, skills, self-esteem, and peer support to help them achieve the following:

  • Avoid using alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs
  • Avoid involvement in other drug related activities, such as drunk driving or drug trafficking
  • Postpone sexual activity

Orange Ribbon- A campaign that uses the orange ribbon to symbolize that Hoosier youth and adults are ready to take a stand against underage drinking, impaired driving, and the selling, serving, and providing of alcohol to minors. Even though the coalition did not receive funds to support the activity, the coalition, Evansville Courier & Press, and Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Department sponsored Orange Ribbon Activity Day. There were 187 entries for our second poetry contest.

Project Ace- Project ACE is an alcohol compliance check initiative that partners local law enforcement agencies with concerned community members to check alcohol outlets to ensure they are not selling to minors. This project is in cooperation with the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Department.

Teen Night- Teen Nights are drug free alternatives for youth in Vanderburgh County.
